Zoom Beta Pi Holiday Happy Hour A Huge Success

If you thought people are too busy during the holiday season to attend a Zoom get-together, you are wrong. The Zoom Holiday event this year occurred on December 17, 2020. Sponsored by Mark Bodner ’79, a record number of participants came in from the snow (where applicable) to socialize with their life-long friends from Beta Pi. Brothers from across our great nation participated. This included brothers from Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland, Nevada, California, Florida, and elsewhere.

Among those in attendance, besides brother Bodner, were Fred Rubin ’80, Scott Rothbort ’79, Ron Perilstein ’77, Bruce Robertson ’82, Daniel Feder ’82, Ross Weiner ’80, Peter Banat ’79, Michael Bobrick ’77, John Joseph ’80, Lawrence Orans ’80, Tom Fogarty ’81, Buddy Altus ‘80, John Feder ’80, Brian Finn ’79, Bill Christian ’79, Bill Lenskold ’79, Leonard Mongiello ’76, Woody Rosenbach ’79, Mitchell Karig ’79, Paul Reszutek “76, Steve Kreichman ’79, and Morty Cohen ’65.

Some of the topics of discussion that seemed to please everyone were the effects of the pandemic on restaurants, answering questions from brother Robertson’s black book, fond memories of Brothers Tavern at the University of Maryland, the difficulties of learning a foreign language one sentence per day and telling jokes. As many of the participants enjoyed their beverage of choice, it seemed like the conversations picked up where they left off so many years ago.

Thanks again to brother Bodner for organizing another successful Zoom party. If you were not available for this Holiday Happy Hour, be sure not to miss the next one, Super Zoom Happy Hour IV.
