Philabundance Benefits From Pi Kappa Alpha Generosity

Once again, the Beta Pi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity has contributed to the public good by participating in a Philadelphia charity. Philabundance plays a prominent role in the fight against hunger in the Delaware Valley, by hosting food drives and raising funds for the purchase of foods to be distributed to those in the Philadelphia areas. Philaundance set a goal to raise $1,000,000 in food and monetary donations. To date, more than $885,000 in food and cash has been raised.

Beta Pi Team Captain, Protik Nandy ’20, assisted by current Beta Pi External Vice President, Adam Zheleznyak ’19, set a Pi Kappa Alpha team goal of $1,000. That goal has been reached and far surpassed. The PiKA team has raised $1,252 for this worthy cause. The largest amounts came from David Todaro ’20, and two Beta Pi alumni, Joel Catania ’71 and Paul Zaentz ’69.

The ill-effects of the pandemic have exacerbated the hunger crisis this year. All donations were gratefully accepted and will be put to good use to satisfy the needs of the hungry and homeless. Well-deserved thanks are extended to all those who generously donated to Philabundance.
