DESCRIPTION:Our annual Founders’ Day dinner will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010. In response to several requests to make the evening more affordable, we are moving the venue to The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College at 4207 Walnut Street, an easy walk from the Chapter House.  The event will begin with a cocktail hour (cash bar) at 6:00PM followed by a three course dinner at approximately 7:00PM. The cost is $55.00 per person, a noticeable decrease from last year’s cost of $80.00 per person. In the interest of full disclosure, this cost includes a subsidy to help offset the cost of the dinner to our undergraduate brothers. We are still anticipating a shortfall of approximately $1000 for the undergraduate dinners so once again I ask all alumni who might be so generously inclined to consider pledging an additional amount to support our young brothers.

If you are planning on attending the dinner, please do the following:

Send a “Founders’ Day” email message to Joel Catania at jlclii@aol.com indicating that you will be attending along with a choice of an entrée: Beef Filet / Salmon / Vegan

Send a check payable to: Beta Pi Alumni Assn of PiKA in the amount of $55.00. Again, please note your entrée choice: Beef Filet / Salmon / Vegan.

If you have not paid your dues for 2009/10, you may include them in your check but be sure to indicate that. Suggested dues are $100.00. Minimum dues are $50.00.  If you are not sure about your dues status you may email Joel and he will let you know.

If you would like to help subsidize the undergraduate dinner shortfall, please indicate how much you are willing to pledge. You may include this amount in your check or wait until the final numbers are in and I will advise you how much of your pledge is needed.

Founders’ Day Hotel Rooms

For those out-of-towners needing a room for one or more nights for Founders’ Day, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Inn at Penn at the rate of $149/night plus 15.2% tax. Rooms are available for the nights of March 25th-27th. Call 215-222-0200, ask for reservations and mention the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity room block. Reservations must be made by February 20th and you must arrange for individual payment of your room. Reservations can be canceled up to 24 hours prior to check-in date.
Sheraton Hotel Room Block

Arrangements have been made for rooms at the Sheraton University Center Hotel at 36th & Chestnut Street at the rate of $139/night plus 15.2% tax.  Rooms are available for the nights of March 25th-27th.  To obtain this, rate reservations must be made by Friday, February 11th.  Rooms can be canceled any time prior to 24 hours before arrival.  Reservations can be made by calling 1-888-627-7071.  You can also book online at www.starwoodmeeting.com/Book/PIKE2010.  Mention “Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity” when you reserve against this block.
